If y’all watch Haikyuu, there’s an episode where Bokuto talks to Tsukishima the moment where people get hooked into volleyball. I strictly remember dissuading everyone to avoid the NSIC vs EZ5 game because that game will have a lot of eyes on us. At that time, I thought I would barf due to nerves. I remember texting them at 1 am about logistics. 24, 2021: Mimi, Wolf, and I somehow got the opportunity to work on the Knights’ Monthly Gauntlet as a community stream (shoutout to Jasper). ![]() They are my friends and family, and we chill in a server called Pogservers. 1st, 2021: I built an observing program within Galorants to help develop more women-identifying and non-binary observers. GO SUPPORT HIM OBSERVING LoL WORLDS!!!!!! There weren't many public observing tips back in 2020. Dude really brought me under his wing and taught me about observing. Above all, I met Vflight who has been nothing short than just amazing. I remember thinking that I could never be fast register all this information and press the right button. 4th, 2020: I observed my first game, Waterloo Gold vs Northeastern, for a collegiate tournament called Golden Coast Invitational. Without this interaction, I don't think I would have pursued observing as a recreational hobby. I asked her to observe for an event that I was hosting and explain what observing is and her decision-making. I remember watching her channel for an Ignition event. 2020: I had the pleasure of meeting sapphiRe through Galorants. Without further ado, here is my 1-year journey. Never would I have thought that I would be an observer, let alone be so dedicated to esports. No cap, I thought teams with big-name orgs were just friends coming together to play a game, and I thought that was cooler than cool. I remember watching the VALORANT Invitationals (specifically PAX Invitational) and the Knights' Gauntlets and being in awe with the production and the viewership. In the Spring of 2020, I didn't even know esports was an industry. DazedDreams 1-year observing journey and lessons learned.
